Angie Castro is a Colombian actress, writer, director and producer currently residing in Los Angeles. Coming from a family of professional dancers, Angie developed a love of music and acting throughout high school. After graduating high school, she moved to New York City, where she continued her education in theater and the arts. Angie attended the acclaimed Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, and then joined the International Theater NY (ITNY) theater company developing workshops in theaters across Europe. After 10 years of acting on stage in New York, she moved to Los Angeles, where she continued her career in the entertainment industry. She is best known for her role as Maria in the Italian-American film In Sicily and Peaches, the award-winning web series film Saved by the Pole. While in LA, she continued landing nation wide commercials and working independent projects. In early 2019, she had the opportunity to direct her first short film called Salsa Mía, which she wrote and starred in. Salsa Mia has earned 18 awards and recognitions worldwide as a best foreign short film, best Latinx short, best female director, best sound design and best original soundtrack and is in current development for a series. She’s also producing the supernatural thriller Muertos in the City of Guadalajara, Mexico with the awards winning filmmaker Michael Baez shooting in 2021. Even when Angie is busy working, she continues writing and sharpening her skills with renowned acting coach Arthur Mendoza.
