ABOUT ME

Angie Castro is a Colombian actress, writer, director, and producer currently residing in Los Angeles. Coming from a family of professional dancers, Angie developed a love of music and acting throughout high school. After graduating high school, she moved to New York City, where she continued her education in theater and the arts. Angie attended the acclaimed Lee Strasberg Theater Institute, and then joined the International Theater NY (ITNY) theater company developing workshops in theaters across Europe. After 10 years of acting on stage in New York, she moved to Los Angeles, where she continued her career in the entertainment industry. As an actress, Angie is best known for her role as Maria in the Italian American film “In Sicily” and as Peaches in the award-winning web series film “Saved by the Pole”. While in LA, she continued her career by booking nationwide commercials and working independent projects. In early 2019, Angie had the opportunity to direct her first short film called Salsa Mia, which she wrote and starred in. Salsa Mia has earned 28 awards and recognitions worldwide as a best foreign short film, best Latinx short, best female director, best sound design, best original soundtrack and is in current development for a feature film. Angie’s most recent directing role was for the upcoming mystery short film, “Waiting for Valeria” which is currently participating in several international film festivals. She is currently producing the supernatural thriller “Muertos” in the City of Guadalajara, Mexico with the award-winning filmmaker Michael Baez shooting in 2023. Even when Angie is busy working, she continues writing and sharpening her skills with renowned acting coach Arthur Mendoza.
